Describing the 2019 CPT code changes for the integumentary system and how to apply the new procedure codes appropriately.
Educational Objectives:
- Identify the new integumentary system CPT codes for 2019.
- Provide a clinical description and rationale for the new codes.
- Describe clinical examples to aid in appropriate application of the new codes.
About The Speaker:
Rachel Briggs CPC, CPMA, CRC, CEMC, CENTC, AAPC Fellow, is a medical coder, auditor and medical coding educator. She is president of Briggs Medical Coding and Consulting LLC and is currently contracted with The Coding Network as a senior coder and auditor.
Rachel has over 25 years of healthcare experience including 18 years in a private ENT practice working as the billing and coding manager as well as assistant practice manager. She has three years’ experience in a large healthcare organization as an auditor and physician coding educator and an additional five years in her current role as an independent contractor for medical coding and auditing services. She is also a contributing editor and subject matter expert on coding and auditing textbooks.
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University. She currently holds certifications as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), a Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC), a Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) and a Certified Ear, Nose and Throat Coder (CENTC) from the Association of Professional Coders (AAPC).
