About the Speakers: Joe Goldstein and Brett Deemer
Joe Goldstein is the Founder and President of Optimized Computer Solutions, Inc. Joe has over 30 years of experience in the management and delivery of technology services. His experience includes small, medium, and large-scale delivery of enterprise technology infrastructures, security, and networking systems. Joe also has extensive experience in project management, IT strategic planning, technical architecture development, and IT department management and restructuring.
For the past twelve years, Joe has had a focus on Healthcare Information Technology. This includes the deployment of multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Record) applications in acute and ambulatory environments, physician office design and deployments, ambulatory surgery center support, and healthcare focused enterprise infrastructure design. Additionally, Joe is a subject matter expert on HIPAA / HITECH and understands the many different requirements Covered Entities (CE) and Business Associates (BA) must meet to comply with HIPAA and HITECH guidelines.
Mr. Goldstein currently volunteers his time on multiple not-for-profit boards of directors including his local HOA and the Inland Empire Navy League. Additionally, he is the mentor for the nationally recognized Troy High School Cyber Defense program based in Fullerton, CA. In this role, Joe mentors middle and high school students on how to harden PCs and server system while maintaining critical services, all in a competitive environment. When not working with his clients or volunteering, Joe prefers to spend free time with his wife, three kids, five dogs, and a Bearded Dragon name Mr. Spikes.
Prior to founding Optimized Computer Solutions, Joe held the Site CIO position for ACS (now a Xerox company) at multiple client locations.
Brett Deemer is the VP Sales & Engineering at Optimized Computer Solutions, Inc. Deemer has over 30 years of diverse technical experience coupled with a strong background in business operations and sales. Brett began his career working in secure communications for the U.S. Army USAEUR Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany and served during the Gulf War. Since that time his professional roles has steadily progressed from systems engineer, senior sales engineer, network operations manager, MIS manager, director of network operations to CIO of Oklahoma’s largest G.I. Healthcare Group with over 20 physicians serving multiple locations throughout the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area. He is well versed in IT infrastructure, telecommunications, and information security and has various industry experience including healthcare, local, state, and the federal government.
Brett has a Bachelor’s degree in Network Information Systems and has several industry certifications including (CISM) Certified Information Security Manager, telecommunications, lean management, lean six sigma in Healthcare and IT, ITIL, Ethics – IT, & BICSI-ITS (structured cabling).
