In this webinar, we will offer a complete guide to Medicare's Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting requirements for the 2019 performance year. A concise overview of the MIPS program will be provided, including its timeframes, reporting methods, scoring, and payment adjustment mechanisms. In particular, we will focus on the minimum amount of reporting required of providers in order to avoid a Part B payment penalty in 2021. We will examine the four component programs of MIPS and analyze the quality measures for each that are most applicable to ENT physicians. We will identify optimal measures that balance clinical relevance with ease of reporting. A Q&A period will follow the presentation.

Educational Objectives:

  • Comprehensive overview of the MIPS program, including timeframes and exemptions via the low-volume threshold.
  • Review of MIPS payment adjustment mechanisms, including the application of budget neutrality and the exceptional performance bonus.
  • Review of MIPS components and scoring.
  • Explanation of minimum MIPS reporting requirements for 2019.
  • Possible paths to satisfying the minimum MIPS requirements from the perspective of ENT physicians.
  • Review of MIPS reporting options.
